Our first meeting of 2018/19

Our first meeting of 2018/19 was a busy one, with lots on the agenda.

We started by nominating the members of our Finance, Premises and Standards sub committees, as well as our Health and Safety and Safeguarding lead governors for the academic year.

We discussed the recent Year 6 trip to PGL, which sounds like a great success, and a really worthwhile experience for the children. Our thanks to the staff who accompanied the children on the trip, it wouldn't have been possible without their commitment.
Staffing and staff CPD was also on the agenda, as well as the Governments proposed pay recommendations for staff. We briefly looked at academic performance, and this will be dissected further in the next Standards sub-committee meeting.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the school, we also looked at training opportunities for the governing body, and will be conducting a skills analysis on ourselves to identify any skills gaps that might need addressing by way of recruitment to the governing body.
If you are interested in becoming a Fosse Way Academy governor, or would like more information, then please contact either Mr Cowling or our Chair of Governors, Helen Pennington.

We hope everyone has a happy and successful year: Grow, learn, believe, achieve.
